Length and volume are my two best friend words when it comes to choosing which mascaras are my ride or die! After all, who doesn’t want that false lash effect?
I don’t know about you, but I love seeing my lashes all full, voluminous, and dark with some pigmented mascaras. Instead of going and paying an arm and a leg for lash extensions, I’d much rather go on the hunt for the best mascaras that’ll give me the same look.
Now, some of you might be out there thinking: “Nah, I’m more of a natural lash girl!” Don’t worry. These mascaras can be used in whatever way suits your style.
You want thick lashes? Go for several coats. You want a more day-to-day look? Just apply one layer. In any case, I want to know that I’m using the best mascara for length or the best mascara for volume.
There are so many options out there nowadays, so I know it can be tricky to determine which products are worth your money.

Alrighty, I know you’re itching to go out and grab these bomb AF mascaras, so let’s get into it.
1. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Oh….my…..goodness! I totally get why this mascara blew up in the beauty world. It’s…freaking…AMAZING!
If you want pigment? Get this. If you want a wand that gives you separation? Get this. If you want that lash lift volume effect? GET THIS.
At first, I was hesitant to try it because I thought it was a bit overhyped. Boy was I wrong. I have turned my aunt onto this. I have turned my mother, sister, friends, cousins onto this. No joke!
The price may be a bit steeper than what lots of people are used to for a mascara, but I promise the price is worth it.
You’ll be wanting to use this stuff everyday it’s that good. Trust me. Go for it. You will NOT regret it.

2. COVERGIRL The Super Sizer Mascara
Talk about obsessed! I first saw this mascara for length and volume on Youtube way back when. Everyone was raving about it because it was SO good but also affordable from the drugstore.
They were right. They were right! Out of all the drugstore mascaras I’ve tested, this is by far among my top 2.
It is so pigmented that it immediately gives you a false lash look while also lifting the hairs at the root of your eyelid. The wand may look small and scrawny, but that thing works.
The technology that has gone into this mascara is crazy good, and now my sister is obsessed too! 😉
3. MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Mascara
This mascara is underrated. Period. But, just because it isn’t everywhere on Instagram doesn’t mean it ain’t good.
Out of all the lash products I’ve tried, this has always been one of the best mascaras for volume. The want is thin with bristles that literally separate and coat every lash. #whispy!
A lot of people don’t really know that MAC makes bomb mascaras, but they do! I’m bringing all the juicy recommendations that you haven’t even realized exist!
4. L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
If you have ANY form of social media, you’ve probably seen this somewhere lately. If not, that’s alright because I’m going to introduce it to you right now.
This is widely known as the “dupe” for the Better Than Sex Mascara, but that’s up to you to decide!
The brush is super similar to the Too Faced one and also provides those lifting and volume qualities.
Beware…the Better Than Sex is known to layer on a lot better, but the L’Oreal version is a great drugstore alternative.
5. Dior Diorshow Iconic Mascara
If you want to splurge, here is some luxury! It doesn’t get more boujee than Dior, and this mascara has achieved a cult-like status. Literally!
Their formula for this volume mascara encourages curl in your lashes and super-charged volume.
Now, not everyone wants to spend the moolah on a luxury mascara. But, let’s be honest! Mascara is one of those makeup staples that can make or break a look. You don’t want clumpy or crusty lashes.
Over here, we go for the whispy false lash effect, baby! There’s no shame in splurging for yourself, so go for it!
